Ancient Egyptian Deities
Ancient Egyptian deities were gods and goddesses that the Egyptians worshiped to explain natural phenomena and govern aspects of daily life. Each deity had specific roles, such as Ra, the sun god symbolizing creation and life; Osiris, the god of the afterlife; and Isis, the goddess of magic and motherhood. Egyptians believed these gods influenced the world around them, so they built temples and performed rituals to gain favor and ensure harmony (Ma'at). The pantheon reflected their values, fears, and hopes, forming a rich mythological framework that guided their culture and society.
