Ma'at is an ancient Egyptian concept embodying truth, balance, order, and justice. It represents the ideal state of cosmic harmony and societal order that Egyptian society sought to maintain. After death, one's heart would be weighed against the feather of Ma'at to determine the worthiness for an afterlife.
