Ancient War Chariots
Ancient war chariots were two-wheeled vehicles pulled by horses, used in battle from around 2000 BCE. They provided mobility, speed, and a platform for archers or spear throwers, allowing armies to strike effectively. Chariots were an important part of cavalry history, enhancing the tactical options available on the battlefield. They allowed for quick maneuvers and the ability to intimidate enemy forces. Over time, as warfare evolved and infantry tactics became more dominant, chariots gradually lost popularity and were replaced by more effective cavalry units, which emphasized mounted soldiers rather than vehicles.
