Scythians
The Scythians were a nomadic warrior culture that thrived from around the 9th century BCE to the 3rd century BCE, primarily in the region that is now Ukraine, southern Russia, and Central Asia. They are known for their impressive horse riding skills, distinctive art, and elaborate burial practices, often involving kurgans (mound graves). The Scythians played a significant role in trade and cultural exchange between the East and West, influencing other civilizations. They were fierce fighters, often in conflict with both the Persian Empire and Greek city-states, and are considered one of the early influences on the nomadic cultures of the Eurasian steppes.
