Kurgan people

The Kurgan people were an ancient group of nomadic tribes who lived around the Eurasian steppe, particularly in areas now part of Ukraine, Russia, and Kazakhstan, around 4500 to 2500 BCE. They are known for building burial mounds called kurgans, which housed their dead and were often rich in grave goods. The Kurgan culture is significant for its role in the spread of Indo-European languages, as they are thought to have influenced early European and Asian societies through migration. Their lifestyle was largely pastoral, relying on herding animals, hunting, and some agriculture.
