Sarmatians

The Sarmatians were a group of ancient nomadic people who lived in the steppes of Eastern Europe, particularly from around the 5th century BCE to the 4th century CE. They are often associated with horseback riding and warrior culture, similar to their predecessors, the Scythians. The Sarmatians spoke an Iranian language and were known for their distinctive customs, including women warriors. Over time, they interacted with surrounding civilizations, including the Romans and local tribes, influencing and blending with them. Their society was marked by tribal divisions and a strong emphasis on mobility and warfare.
