Hyksos

The Hyksos were a group of people, likely of mixed Semitic origins, who invaded and ruled parts of ancient Egypt during the 15th Dynasty (around 1650–1550 BCE). They introduced new technologies, such as the horse-drawn chariot and improved weaponry, transforming Egyptian warfare and culture. Their rule marked a significant period of foreign influence in Egypt, often referred to as the Second Intermediate Period. Eventually, the native Egyptians overthrew the Hyksos, leading to a resurgence known as the New Kingdom, which saw a return to traditional Egyptian power and culture.
