
Amenemhat II
Amenemhat II was a pharaoh of Egypt during the Middle Kingdom, reigning from around 1929 to 1895 BCE. He was the son of Amenemhat I and continued his father's policies of strengthening the state's economy and military. His reign is noted for trade expeditions, particularly to Nubia and Punt, enhancing Egypt's wealth. Amenemhat II was also a patron of arts and architecture, contributing to the construction of temples and monuments. His rule exemplified a period of relative stability and prosperity, and he is remembered for his efforts to integrate various peoples within Egypt under a centralized authority.
