trophic dynamics

Trophic dynamics refers to the feeding relationships and energy flow within ecosystems. It describes how different organisms, known as trophic levels, interact through food chains and food webs. At the base are producers (like plants) that create food through photosynthesis. Herbivores eat the producers, while carnivores consume herbivores or other carnivores. Decomposers break down organic matter, recycling nutrients back into the environment. This network of interactions helps maintain ecological balance and shows how energy travels from one level to another, ultimately supporting all life forms within an ecosystem.
