Reconquista Crusade
The Reconquista was a centuries-long series of campaigns from the 8th to the late 15th century in which Christian kingdoms in the Iberian Peninsula sought to reclaim territory from Muslim rule. Initially sparked by the Arab conquest in 711, it involved various battles and shifts in power among Christian and Muslim states. The Reconquista culminated in 1492 when Ferdinand and Isabella of Spain captured Granada, the last Muslim stronghold. This event marked the end of Muslim rule in Spain and laid the groundwork for Spain’s unification and the Age of Exploration.
