Almoravids
The Almoravids were a medieval Islamic dynasty that emerged in North Africa around the 11th century, known for uniting and expanding Muslim territories across North Africa and into Spain. Originating from the Berber tribes, they promoted strict religious practices and a revival of Islamic values. Their leadership played a key role in controlling trade routes, culture, and political stability in the region. The Almoravid movement significantly influenced the history of the Islamic world and the Iberian Peninsula, where they established the powerful city of Marrakech as their capital before eventually declining in the 12th century.
