Taifa of Seville

The Taifa of Seville was an independent Muslim kingdom that emerged in the 11th century during the period of the Taifa states in Al-Andalus, which is present-day Spain. Established after the collapse of the Umayyad Caliphate of Córdoba, Seville became a cultural and economic center, known for its advancements in architecture, science, and the arts. The taifa's rulers, known as "taifas," were often in conflict with each other and faced pressure from Christian kingdoms to the north. The Taifa of Seville eventually came under the control of the Almoravids in the late 11th century as larger empires began to consolidate power.
