Patellar Tendinitis

Patellar tendinitis, often called "jumper's knee," is an injury involving inflammation of the patellar tendon, which connects the kneecap (patella) to the shinbone (tibia). It commonly occurs in athletes who perform repetitive jumping or running, leading to pain and swelling at the front of the knee. Symptoms can worsen with activity and improve with rest. Treatment typically includes rest, ice, physical therapy, and sometimes anti-inflammatory medications. If left untreated, it may cause persistent discomfort and limit physical activity, making early intervention important for recovery.
