Parliament of Ireland

The Parliament of Ireland, also known as the Parliament of the Kingdom of Ireland, was the legislative body of Ireland from the late Middle Ages until 1800. It consisted of two houses: the House of Commons, made up of elected representatives, and the House of Lords, composed of nobles and bishops. The Parliament held authority over domestic issues but was ultimately subordinate to the British Parliament. In 1800, it was merged into the Parliament of Great Britain through the Acts of Union, leading to the establishment of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland.
