Oireachtas
The Oireachtas is the parliament of Ireland, responsible for making the country's laws. It consists of two houses: Dáil Éireann, which is the lower house, where representatives (TDs) are elected by the public, and Seanad Éireann, the upper house, with members appointed in various ways. The Oireachtas also includes the President of Ireland, who plays a ceremonial role. It meets in Dublin and is key to Irish democracy, debating issues, passing legislation, and holding the government accountable. Overall, the Oireachtas ensures that the voice of the people is heard in the governance of Ireland.
