PageRank
PageRank is an algorithm used by search engines like Google to determine the importance of web pages. It does this by analyzing the links between pages; a page is considered important if it is linked to by other important pages. Essentially, it’s a way of measuring the credibility and relevance of a webpage based on how many other pages link to it and how highly those linking pages are regarded. The result is that when you search for information, PageRank helps ensure that the most relevant and authoritative pages appear at the top of your search results.
