Monocular Cues

Monocular cues are visual signals that help us perceive depth and distance using just one eye. These cues include size (objects appear smaller when they are farther away), overlap (when one object blocks another, we perceive it as closer), and linear perspective (parallel lines appear to converge in the distance). Additionally, textures and shading can indicate depth; for example, a textured surface looks different up close than from afar. Together, these cues allow us to navigate and understand our three-dimensional environment more effectively, even with limited visual input.
