Interposition

Interposition is a depth perception cue in which an object partially covers or blocks the view of another object behind it. When one object overlaps another, our brains interpret the blocking object as being closer. For example, if a tree obscures part of a distant building, we perceive the tree as nearer. This cue helps us judge spatial relationships and distances in our environment, providing valuable information for navigating and understanding the three-dimensional world around us.
