Migration Period

The Migration Period, also known as the Barbarian Invasions, occurred roughly between the 4th and 9th centuries AD. During this time, various groups, including the Goths, Vandals, and Huns, moved across Europe, leading to significant demographic shifts. These migrations challenged the Roman Empire's borders, contributing to its decline. As tribes sought new lands and resources, they invaded and settled in Roman territories, resulting in the fragmentation of the empire. This era paved the way for the formation of new kingdoms and laid the groundwork for the medieval European landscape.
