Vandals
The Vandals were a Germanic tribe that played a significant role in the decline of the Roman Empire during the 5th century. They are best known for their invasions of North Africa and the establishment of a kingdom that included parts of present-day Tunisia and Algeria. In 455 AD, they famously sacked Rome, which contributed to their reputation as destructive raiders, giving rise to the term "vandalism." Their impact was pivotal in the shifting dynamics of power in the Mediterranean region, and they eventually fell to the Byzantine Empire in the 6th century.
