War of the Vandals

The War of the Vandals was a military conflict in the early 6th century (533-534 AD), when the Byzantine Empire, under Emperor Justinian I, aimed to reconquer North Africa from the Vandals, a Germanic tribe that had established a kingdom there since the 5th century. The Byzantines launched a campaign led by General Belisarius, which successfully defeated the Vandals, ending their reign and restoring Roman control over the region. This war was part of Justinian’s larger effort to reunify the fallen Western Roman Empire and expand the Byzantine Empire's territory.
