Knights Hospitaller
The Knights Hospitaller, also known as the Order of Saint John, was a medieval Christian military order founded in the 11th century. Originally established in Jerusalem to provide care for sick pilgrims, they evolved into a military force during the Crusades, protecting the Holy Land. They were known for their distinctive black robes with white crosses and played a significant role in medieval history. After losing their territories, they relocated to Malta and became involved in maritime defense and trade. Today, the Knights Hospitaller focus on humanitarian work, continuing their legacy of care and service.
