Hafizullah Amin
Hafizullah Amin was an Afghan politician and revolutionary leader known for his role during the Soviet-Afghan War in the late 1970s. He served as Prime Minister of Afghanistan and was a key figure in the People's Democratic Party of Afghanistan (PDPA), which sought to implement socialist reforms. Amin came to power following a coup in 1978 but faced significant opposition and instability. His government was marked by violence and repression. In December 1979, the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan, largely motivated by concerns over Amin's leadership, and he was ousted and killed shortly after.
