Gustavus Adolphus, known as the "Lion of the North," was the King of Sweden from 1611 until his death in 1632. He is credited with transforming Sweden into a major European power during the Thirty Years' War, a conflict primarily over religion. His innovative military strategies, including the use of mobile artillery and coordinated tactics, significantly influenced modern warfare. Gustavus Adolphus was also a champion of Protestantism, leading his forces to key victories against Catholic powers. His reign helped establish Sweden's influence in Europe, and he is remembered as one of the greatest military leaders in history.
