Wallenstein (Albrecht von Wallenstein)

Albrecht von Wallenstein was a prominent Czech military leader and nobleman during the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648). He rose to prominence by commanding large armies for the Catholic Habsburg emperor, playing a key role in early military successes. Wallenstein was known for his strategic skill and ambitious nature, but his growing power and independence eventually threatened imperial authority. In 1634, he was dismissed and later assassinated under suspicion of plotting rebellion. His legacy is complex, reflecting both his military prowess and the political tensions of his time.
