
Maria Eleonora of Brandenburg
Maria Eleonora of Brandenburg (1599–1655) was a noblewoman from the German region of Brandenburg and became Queen of Sweden through her marriage to King Gustavus Adolphus. Known for her intelligence and cultural interests, she played significant political and diplomatic roles during Sweden's involvement in the Thirty Years' War. Her life was marked by personal tragedies, including the death of her husband and her son.
