Gran Colombia
Gran Colombia was a large republic in South America that existed from 1819 to 1831, formed after the region gained independence from Spanish rule. It included modern-day Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, and Panama. Led by figures like Simón Bolívar, Gran Colombia aimed to unite these territories under a single government following the ideals of liberty and democracy. However, political disagreements and regional differences led to its fragmentation, resulting in the individual nations we know today. Despite its short existence, Gran Colombia played a significant role in the continent's struggle for independence and shaped the political landscape of South America.
