Gallium Arsenide

Gallium arsenide (GaAs) is a compound made from gallium and arsenic, often used in electronics and optoelectronics. It has unique properties that make it suitable for high-frequency and high-efficiency applications, such as solar cells, LEDs, and semiconductors in smartphones and satellite communications. Unlike silicon, GaAs can operate at higher speeds and is more effective in converting sunlight into electricity. However, it is more expensive to produce and harder to work with, which limits its widespread use compared to more common materials like silicon.
