Eastern Front

The Eastern Front in World War I was a major theater of conflict that primarily involved fighting between the Central Powers (mainly Germany and Austria-Hungary) and the Allies (especially Russia). Unlike the Western Front, characterized by trench warfare, the Eastern Front was more fluid, with larger troop movements and battles across vast territories. It began in 1914 and stretched until the end of the war in 1918, resulting in significant territorial changes, casualties, and the eventual withdrawal of Russia following the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution, which shifted the balance in favor of the Central Powers.
