Ludendorff Offensive

The Ludendorff Offensive refers to a series of German military assaults launched in March 1918 during World War I, aimed at breaking the stalemate on the Western Front before American troops fully arrived. Named after General Erich Ludendorff, the campaign initially achieved significant territorial gains, using infiltration tactics and mobile warfare. However, it ultimately faltered due to overstretched supply lines and fierce Allied resistance. By August 1918, the offensive had failed, leading to a counter-offensive by the Allies that contributed to Germany's eventual defeat later that year.
