Dutch War

The Dutch War, fought from 1672 to 1678, was a conflict primarily between the Dutch Republic and a coalition led by France, which sought to expand its territory. The war began when France invaded the Netherlands, aiming to weaken Dutch power. The Dutch, under the leadership of their military leaders and an alliance with England and other nations, fought back. The conflict ended with the Treaty of Nijmegen in 1678, which resulted in territorial adjustments but ultimately preserved Dutch independence and power, highlighting the ongoing struggle for influence in Europe during the 17th century.
