Diaphragm

A diaphragm is a thin, flexible barrier used in various contexts, most commonly in contraceptive methods. In contraceptive use, it is a dome-shaped device made of latex or silicone that fits inside the vagina, covering the cervix to prevent sperm from entering the uterus. It is often used with spermicide for increased effectiveness. Beyond contraception, "diaphragm" can also refer to a muscle that separates the chest cavity from the abdomen, playing a crucial role in breathing by contracting and relaxing to help air flow in and out of the lungs.
