Lens aperture

Lens aperture refers to the opening in a camera lens that controls the amount of light entering the camera. It is measured in f-stops (e.g., f/2.8, f/8), where a lower number means a larger opening, allowing more light through, and creating a shallower depth of field (blurred background). Conversely, a higher number means a smaller opening, letting in less light and increasing depth of field (more of the scene in focus). Adjusting the aperture affects exposure and the artistic quality of images, influencing how subjects stand out or blend into their surroundings.
