Comintern
The Comintern, short for the Communist International, was an organization founded in 1919 to promote worldwide communism. Established by the Soviet Union, its goal was to encourage the spread of communist ideology and support communist parties in various countries. The Comintern aimed to unite workers and revolutionaries globally to challenge capitalism and imperialism. It played a significant role in the international communist movement until its disbandment in 1943, during World War II, as political priorities shifted. The Comintern influenced many local communist movements and shaped international relations during the early 20th century.
