Cartilage
Cartilage is a flexible connective tissue found in various parts of the body, such as joints, ears, and nose. It serves several important functions, including providing cushioning and support to joints, maintaining the shape of structures, and enabling smooth movement. Unlike bone, cartilage is not as hard and is more pliable, allowing it to absorb shock and reduce friction between bones. There are different types of cartilage, including hyaline, elastic, and fibrocartilage, each serving specific roles in the body’s structure and movement. Cartilage can be slow to heal if injured, as it has a limited blood supply.
