Vertebrate Skeletons
Vertebrate skeletons are the internal backbone structures found in animals like mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and fish. They provide support and protection for vital organs, facilitate movement through muscles attached to bones, and play a role in producing blood cells within certain types of bone. Vertebrate skeletons can be made of cartilage or bone, with the vertebral column (or spine) being a key feature that houses the spinal cord. Each animal's skeleton is adapted to its lifestyle, influencing its shape, size, and agility in its environment.
