Apollo Lunar Program

The Apollo lunar program was a series of space missions conducted by NASA between 1961 and 1972, aimed at landing humans on the Moon and bringing them safely back to Earth. The most famous mission, Apollo 11, achieved this goal on July 20, 1969, when astronauts Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to walk on the lunar surface. The program successfully demonstrated advanced space travel technology, explored the Moon's geology, and fulfilled President Kennedy’s goal of landing a man on the Moon before the decade’s end, significantly advancing space exploration.
