Anglo-Saxon England
Anglo-Saxon England refers to the period in English history from around the 5th to the 11th centuries, following the fall of the Western Roman Empire. During this time, various Germanic tribes, primarily the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes, migrated to Britain, establishing kingdoms and developing a distinct culture. Society was organized around agriculture, kinship ties, and local governance, with a strong influence of Christianity as it spread throughout the land. This era laid the foundations for the English language and identity, culminating in major events like the Viking invasions and the Norman Conquest in 1066.
