Uric Acid
Uric acid is a waste product formed when the body breaks down purines, substances found in certain foods and drinks. Normally, uric acid dissolves in the blood and is eliminated through the kidneys in urine. However, if the body produces too much uric acid or the kidneys don't remove enough, it can accumulate in the body, leading to health issues like gout—a type of arthritis characterized by sudden pain and swelling in joints. High levels of uric acid can also be linked to other health problems, such as kidney stones and certain cardiovascular diseases.
