Universal Grammar
Universal Grammar is a theory in linguistics proposed by Noam Chomsky, suggesting that the ability to acquire language is innate to humans. It posits that all languages share a common underlying structure, allowing children to learn any language effortlessly. This theory implies that our brains are pre-wired with a set of grammatical principles, enabling us to understand and produce language more easily than if we were taught each language from scratch. Essentially, Universal Grammar serves as a blueprint that explains why languages, despite their differences, exhibit similar fundamental features.
