Treaty of Pressburg

The Treaty of Pressburg, signed in December 1805, ended the hostilities between the Austrians and the French during the War of the Third Coalition. Following Napoleon's victory at the Battle of Austerlitz, Austria had to cede significant territories, including parts of modern-day Italy and Germany, to both France and its allies. The treaty solidified French influence in Central Europe and weakened Austria's power, marking a crucial moment in the Napoleonic Wars. It ultimately contributed to a reconfiguration of European borders and the balance of power in the region.
