Principality of Hungary
The Principality of Hungary was a medieval state established in the late 9th and early 10th centuries, formed by the Magyar tribes who settled in the Carpathian Basin. It functioned as a semi-independent entity under the leadership of a prince, serving as a precursor to the Kingdom of Hungary. The principality played a key role in consolidating Magyar control over the region, laying the groundwork for a unified Hungarian nation. Its development marked the transition from tribal society to a more organized political structure, leading to the full Christianization and eventual coronation of a king around 1000 AD.
