The Roman-Sassanid Wars
The Roman-Sassanid Wars were a series of conflicts fought between the Roman Empire and the Sassanid Empire (Persia) from the 3rd to 7th centuries AD. These wars were driven by territorial disputes, trade control, and religious differences, particularly the spread of Christianity. The two empires engaged in numerous battles and sieges, resulting in shifting borders and significant casualties. These conflicts weakened both powers, contributing to the decline of the Roman Empire and the eventual rise of Islam, which led to the fall of the Sassanid Empire in the mid-7th century.
