Kavad I was a king of the Sasanian Empire, ruling from around 488 to 531 AD. He is known for his role in restoring the dynasty's power after a period of instability. Kavad I focused on military campaigns and internal reforms, strengthening the empire and reviving Zoroastrianism as the state religion. He also engaged in significant interactions with the Byzantine Empire, which influenced regional politics. His reign marked a pivotal moment in Sasanian history, setting the stage for the later accomplishments of his son, Khosrow I.
