The Macedonian Wars

The Macedonian Wars (214–148 BCE) were a series of conflicts between Rome and the kingdom of Macedon, marking the rise of Rome as a major power in the Mediterranean. These wars were fueled by competition for control over Greek cities and territories. Key battles included the defeat of King Philip V and later his son Perseus. By 148 BCE, Rome decisively conquered Macedon, ending its monarchy and transforming it into a Roman province. This expansion significantly impacted Greek culture and politics, as Rome increasingly integrated Greek territories into its expanding empire.
