Fourth Macedonian War
The Fourth Macedonian War (150-148 BC) was a conflict between the Roman Republic and the Kingdom of Macedon. After earlier wars, Roman influence was growing in Greece. The Macedonian king, Andriscus, claimed the throne and attempted to restore Macedon's power. However, he challenged Rome’s authority, leading to a military response. The Romans defeated Andriscus, resulting in the complete annexation of Macedon and its transformation into a Roman province. This war marked the end of Macedonian independence and solidified Roman control over the region, paving the way for further expansion in Greece and the Eastern Mediterranean.
