Second Macedonian War

The Second Macedonian War (200–197 BC) was a conflict between the Roman Republic and the Kingdom of Macedon. It arose from Rome's desire to curb Macedon's power in Greece after it had previously defeated the first Macedonian War. Led by the Roman general Titus Quinctius Flamininus, the Romans achieved several victories, culminating in the decisive Battle of Cynoscephalae in 197 BC. The war ended with Rome defeating Macedon and establishing itself as a dominant force in Greek affairs, leading to increased Roman influence in the region and the eventual decline of Macedonian power.
