Teratoma

A teratoma is a type of tumor that can contain different types of tissues, such as hair, muscle, and even teeth. These tumors usually arise in the ovaries or testes but can also occur in other areas, like the spinal cord. Teratomas are believed to originate from germ cells, which are the cells that develop into eggs or sperm. While some teratomas are benign (non-cancerous) and pose little risk, others can be malignant (cancerous) and may require treatment. Diagnosis typically involves imaging tests and possibly surgery to remove the tumor.
