Salt March

The Salt March, also known as the Dandi March, was a key event in India's struggle for independence from British rule in 1930. Led by Mahatma Gandhi, it involved a 240-mile march to the Arabian Sea to protest the British monopoly on salt production and sales. Gandhi and his followers collected natural salt from the sea, symbolically defying British laws. This act of civil disobedience rallied widespread support for the independence movement, highlighting issues of injustice and colonial exploitation, and it marked a significant turning point in India’s quest for freedom.
