Quantum Optics
Quantum Optics is a branch of physics devoted to understanding how particles of light, called photons, operate on a micro level. It bridges the gap between quantum mechanics, governing particles at atomic to subatomic scale, and optical phenomena, which are largely visible and tangible. It's mainly about how individual photons interact with matter and each other, enabling us to investigate unique properties like quantum entanglement and superposition, that are fundamental in quantum computing and advanced communication technologies.
